MANILA, Philippines—Creamline stretched its winning streak even as Choco Mucho exacted revenge against PacificTown-Army Sunday night in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at Fil0il Flying V Center.

The Cool Smashers secured the No. 1 spot in the semifinals after stopping the Air Force Jet Spikers, 25-15, 25-16, 25-18, for their 11th victory in as many matches.

Creamline also brought Air Force back to the ground after it previously won five straight victories for a 5-6 record.

Back-up open spiker Jema Galanza unloaded 22 points as she was given the starring role, allowing star player Alyssa Valdez to take a breather following an ankle injury.

Earlier, the Flying Titans used the same measure with which to get back at the Lady Troopers, 25-20, 17-25, 21-25, 25-11, 15-8, and stay in contention for the next round.

But at 5-6, Choco Mucho’s hopes of making the Final Four rests heavily on other teams at the moment.

Still Oliver Almadro, the expressive Choco Mucho mentor, welcomed the win which he said showed the character of the neophyte team.

In the first round, the Flying Titans dropped a similar five-set match to the Lady Troopers in a match that lasted for three hours.

Kat Tolentino topscored with 24 points, while the come backing Maddie Madayag added 14 for Choco Mucho.

Like Madayag, Jovelyn Gonzaga also checked back from the national team build up, scoring 15 points for PacificTown-Army.

Honey Royse Tubino led the Lady Troopers with 16 points but she committed four of her teams’ eight attack errors in the fifth set which did them in for good.
