STA. ROSA — San Miguel Beer added to Alaska’s miseries by hammering out 109-83 decision in the PBA Governors’ Cup Sunday night at Sta Rosa Multipurpose Complex in Laguna.

Import Dez Wells led the way with 25 points for the Beermen, who through the resounding victory, primed themselves for a showdown with early leader NLEX in Dubai on Friday.

Terrence Romeo had 18 off the bench, while four more locals added 10 points each in a performance that underscored the perennial contender’s glut of offensive options.

The Aces, whose slide continued to three games, turned to JVee Casio for production. Casio finished with 16 points to lead the team and to fill in the void left by injured reinforcement Justin Watts.

Vic Manuel tossed in 14 points while rookie Abu Tratter 13 in efforts barely felt after their tormentors pulled away in the second half.

San Miguel, which improved to 2-0, joins TNT in second place.

Alaska, meanwhile, seeks to put an end to its winless start against Meralco on Friday at MOA Arena.
