Indonesia scuttles PH silver bid

The Philippines used the Asean Volleyball Grand Prix to get a glimpse of its Southeast Asian Games chances. They caught a peek of bronze twice.

The Nationals came up with second straight third-place finish in the tournament after losing to Indonesia, 25-21, 25-17, 22-25, 25-21, Sunday night.

Thailand thrashed Vietnam 25-21, 25-12, 25-11, earlier to run away with the title.

“This is still a big improvement for us, we gave it our best out there,” said national coach Shaq delos Santos. “It is the SEA Games we are really after.”

The national team will next hold a training camp in Japan from Oct. 20 to Nov. 2.
