Luisa Arches Awitan, mother of Balita sportswriter Marivic Awitan, died on Oct. 6, 2019, at the age of 82 due to lingering illness. She is survived by other children Luis, and Erwin, daughters-in-law Irene and Jennifer and grandchildren Neo, Aren, Marvin, John Victor, Alu, Lui, Ethan and Ayel. Her remains lie at their residence in Bañadero, Tanauan City, Batangas. Interment will be announced later.
