Dennis Orcollo battles Chang Jung-Lin Saturday
MANILA, Philippines—It will be a showdown of 8-ball specialists when Filipino Dennis Orcollo and Taiwanese Chang Jung-lin tangle in the Philippine Bigtime Billiards Face Off Series on Saturday at the Pagcor Airport Casino in Parañaque City.
Orcollo, the 2011 World 8-ball champion, is out to prove that he’s better than the reigning 8-ball titlist and put the Philippines on equal footing with Asia in the weekly matches featuring the region’s top cue wielders.
“I will not disappoint my countrymen this time. I’m ready,” said Orcollo, who was ranked No. 1 in the world last year but slipped to sixth after his early exit in the 2012 World 8-ball championship won by Chang last month.
Chang beat Filipino Lee Vann Corteza, 9-7, in their PBB Series match last March 3 to give Asia a 2-1 lead over the Philippines in the event jointly organized by Mega Sports World and BRKHRD Corporation and aired live over Solar Sports, Sky Channel 70 and Destiny Channel 34.
