Petecio bags world feather gold

The Philippines’ Nesthy Petecio came up with a dominant performance against Lludmila Vorontsove of Russia to win the featherweight finals of the Aiba Women’s World Boxing champpionship in Ulan-Ude Russia.

Petecio got the nod from three of the five judges for the split decision victory, becoming the second world champion in less than 24 hours for the Philippines after Carlos Edriel Yulo triumphed in the floor exercise of the World Artistic Gymnastics championship in Stuttgart, Germany.
