MANILA, Philippines—Athletes star off the court too.
That’s what Canada’s rugby team showed as members of the squad teamed up to help recovery efforts in Japan’s city of Kamaishi after the country was hit by Super Typhoon Hagibis over the weekend.
Following the cancellation of their match in Kamaishi, @RugbyCanada players headed out to help with recovery efforts, showing the true values of the game.

With Rugby World Cup games cancelled including Canada’s match against Namibia due to the severe weather condition, the Canadians made sure to spend their time the best way they could.
The squad’s act of kindness certainly didn’t go unnoticed with people, including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, expressing their gratitude and commending the members of the team all over social media.
