PBA Commissioner’s Cup: Air21 stuns Talk ‘N Text, 89-78

MANILA, Philippines – Air21 leaned on its locals led by Nelbert Omolon  to stun fancied Talk ‘N Text, 89-78, Wednesday night in the 37th PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Omolon showcased an all-around game with a game-high 23 points to go along with 14 rebounds and four blocks while Jojo Duncil and Mark Isip had 16 points each.

“Probably we’re lucky we got talk n text on a bad day. I guess we’re lucky. And my locals responded well,” said Air21 head coach Franz Pumaren.

Import Marcus Douthit wasn’t in his usual form as only scored measly six points but he did have 26 rebounds and still managed to be a threat at the shaded area.

Air21 nailed its second win in four tries while also handing Talk ‘N Text its first defeat in four outings.

The Texters new import Donnell Harvey, who replaced the injured Omar Samhan, finished with 21 points and 28 rebounds.
