MANILA, Philippines—The Philippines went on a rampage after missing out on the Super Round, dismantling Hong Kong, 10-0, in eight innings in the consolation round of the BFA Asian Baseball Championship Friday at Taichung Stadium.

The Filipinos failed to move on to the Super Round due to inferior quotient after getting into a triple tie with China and South Korea with all three teams sharing identical 2-1 records in the group stage.

After ripping Pakistan apart, 11-0, and edging past China, 1-0, the Philippines lost badly 12-2 to South Korea.

The Philippines found its mark against Hong Kong, tallying 16 hits with Kiko Gesmundo striking out eight batters.

The Filipinos final game in the tournament is against Sri Lanka late Saturday.
