UAAP: Lady Bulldogs demolish Lady Maroons by 76 points for 92 straight wins

MANILA, Philippines—National University brandished its power and humbled  University of the Philippines, 109-33, to remain perfect in the UAAP Season 82 women’s basketball tournament Wednesday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Lady Bulldogs stretched their preposterous winning streak to 92 games, including 12 this season, that began in Season 76.

Rookie Camille Clarin schooled UP with 20 points and five rebounds while center Rhena Itesi had her way underneath with 16 points, eight boards, two assists, and three steals.

Jack Animan filled the stat sheets for NU with 15 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, four steals, and three blocks while Angel Saruda had her own double-double with 14 points and 13 boards.

NU had a strong 18-2 start in the first quarter and broke the game wide open with a 35-9 lead heading into the break.

“I’m just happy that the first group delivered in the opening minutes of the game,” said NU head coach Pat Aquino. “They had the momentum going and everybody was following our game plan.”

Lulu Ordoveza had eight points and four rebounds for UP, which languished bottom of the standings with a 1-11 card.
