UAAP women’s basketball: UST locks up Final 4 slot in win over La Salle

MANILA, Philippines—University of Santo Tomas booked its ticket to the Final Four after preying on De La Salle 71-49, in the UAAP Season 82 women’s basketball tournament Wednesday at Quadricentennial Pavilion.
Reigning MVP Grace Irebu led the way for UST, which is at second with a 10-3 record, with 13 points and 16 rebounds while fellow tower Tantoy Ferrer added 12 points and seven boards.

“I’m just happy,” said UST head coach Haydee Ong. “I just told them that we should put to good use the defense we trained for the past two days.”
Point guard Ruby Portillo also finished in double figures with 12 points, four rebounds, and three assists for the Golden Tigresses.
