PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial admits to having heard of it, but said that the trade proposal that would send Ray Parks, this year’s second overall Draft choice, to TNT from Blackwater has yet to reach the league’s offices.
“We haven’t received any papers yet,” the executive told the Inquirer over the phone on Thursday as the league took a break in observance of All-Saints’ Day and will resume operations on Sunday with the regular Governors’ Cup doubleheader at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Reports of the trade made rounds on social media late Wednesday, shortly after Parks and the Elite lost to crowd favorite Barangay Ginebra.
And until an official trade transaction among the teams is forwarded to the Commissioner’s Office, Marcial, obviously, cannot act on it.
“The earliest the trade committee can examine the proposal is either on Sunday or Monday,” added Marcial.
A TNT official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the transaction is “not (yet) official.”
