MANILA, Philippines—It’s been more than four years since Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather squared off in the biggest boxing match in the history of the sport but speculations of a rematch, be it real or a gimmick, continue to surface from time to time.
Just recently, Pacquiao called out Mayweather in a video he posted on social media with Chinese billionaire Jack Ma.
It certainly did not go unnoticed with Mayweather offering a quick counter to Pacquiao in a video on TMZ.
“I know what he said but when he finally see me, I’ll beat him,” Mayweather, who retired with an undefeated record of 50-0, said in the video.
In the video, Pacquiao, the current WBA (Super) welterweight champion, challenged Mayweather to a “real fight” after he entertainingly worked Ma’s mitts.
“Floyd, if you want a real fight, fight me. If you want an exhibition then my guy, my friend, Jack Ma will take care of you,” said Pacquiao referring to Mayweather’s last appearance in a boxing ring when he fought an overmatched Japanese kickboxing star in a three-round exhibition that lasted only one round in 2018.
Mayweather, who earned $9 million for the event, also mocked Ma when asked about the a possible exhibition with the Alibaba founder.
“Who? I don’t even know who he is,” said a laughing Mayweather, pertaining to Ma.
