Super Cup: University of Tsukuba hands PSL Shine 2nd straight loss

MANILA, Philippines–University of Tsukuba made full use of its familiarity and speed to crush PSL Shine, 25-10, 25-16, 25-16, Thursday for its second straight win in the Philippine Superliga Super Cup at FilOil Flying V Center.

Ami Yamashita scored 15 points to lead the reigning Japan inter-collegiate champs in demolishing the squad made up of league selection.

The Japanese team is expected to go for a sweep when it takes on the Philippine team on Friday.

MJ Phillips and Remy Palma led PSL Shine which absorbed its second straight defeat in the week-long tournament to accommodate the national team training for the Southeast Asian Games.
