MANILA, Philippines—League-leading NLEX is getting scarier each game.

After showing great resolve in coming back from 26 points down to stun Magnolia on Sunday, the Road Warriors are set to welcome back their other star guard in Kevin Alas.

Alas, who forms a deadly backcourt tandem with Kiefer Ravena, will make his keenly-awaited comeback from a second ACL tear on Wednesday against NorthPort in the PBA Governors’ Cup.

Interestingly, Alas is making his return on his 28th birthday.

“I’m happy and excited, but mostly feeling blessed because I’ve waited for so long,” Alas said in a text message to INQUIRER.net Tuesday night.

“Here I am again getting the chance to play the game that I love.”

The 27-year-old Alas hurt his right knee back in February against Meralco just five games into the 2019 Philippine Cup.

Alas, who was supposed to play last Sunday in NLEX’s come-from-behind win over Magnolia after getting the green light from his doctors, is suiting up just time for the Road Warriors’ final stretch before the playoffs.

NLEX is currently on top of the standings with an 8-1 record, having won five straight games.
