MANILA, Philippines–He may have doubts about the University of the Philippines’ victory in the upcoming match with the University of Santo Tomas (UST) but he will still root for UP, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said Wednesday.
“Dahil sabi ni Chief Justice sa UST sya, sa UP ako. After all, may UP blood din naman ako. I’ll go for UP mamaya [Because the Chief Justice said he is for UST, I will go for UP. After all, I also have UP blood],” Guevarra told reporters.
Guevarra finished his college and law degree from the Ateneo De Manila. He took up his Masters Degree in Economics at UP.
UP lost to UST in its last match. The Fighting Maroons has a twice to beat advantage in the stepladder phase of the championship.
When asked if UP will win this time, he said: “I don’t know. I have doubts about that but I’ll cheer for UP.” /muf
