ONE: Ramon Gonzales win streak snapped as he falls to Chinese bet

BEIJING—The Filipinos opened their campaign in ONE: Age of Dragons with a loss after Ramon Gonzales fell to hometown bet Hexigetu in the curtain raiser Saturday at Cadillac Arena here.

Gonzales had little to show against a game Hexigetu, who overwhelmed the Filipino in a unanimous decision win.

The two were supposed to fight last August in Bangkok, Thailand, but the bout got called off after a hydration mishap by Gonzales.

After waiting for three months, Hexigetu wasted little time in asserting himself in their strawweight fight with a quick takedowns in each of the three rounds.

Gonzales showed futile resistance and Hexigetu took advantage of it by being the more aggressive fighter.

Gonzales saw his three-fight streak snapped as he slipped to 4-3 while Hexigetu won his second straight fight to improve to 4-3.
