‘Integrity’ race draws 5,000 runners

TAGUIG CITY—More than 5,000 runners yesterday trooped to Bonifacio Global City to add their voice to the fight against corruption.

The “I Run For Integrity Towards A New Philippines” event was organized by the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) and the Makati Business Club in support of the Integrity Initiative project which was started in the last quarter of 2010.

Both the private sector and the government were represented in the run that was divided into the 3k, 5k, 10k, and 15k divisions.

Among the leading personalities present were Integrity Initiative project director Henry Schumacher, Integrity Initiative vice chair Felino Palafox Jr., ECCP vice president and general manager Michel Miloda, Chamber of Automobile Manufacturers in the Philippines president Elizabeth Lee, Convergys country Manager Marife Zamora, NBI Director Magtanggol Gatdula, Internal Revenue commissioner Kim Henares, Customs commissioner Angelito Alvarez, and Finance Undersecretary Carlo Carag.
