Floorball teams deliver Philippines’ first 2 wins in SEA Games
MANILA, Philippines—The Philippines finally had something to feel good about in the 30th Southeast Asian Games after its men’s and women’s floorball teams picked up contrasting wins Monday night at University of the Philippines College of Human Kinetics Gymnasium in Quezon City.
The women’s squad delivered the country’s first win in the regional meet after whipping Indonesia, 8-1.
Article continues after this advertisementThe men’s side then, followed it up with a come-from-behind 5-4 victory also against Indonesia.
Jade Rivera led the Filipinas charge with a dominating performance, delivering five of her team’s eight goals.
The Philippines takes on Thailand next on Tuesday.
