Esports will take centerstage in the Southeast Asian Games after finally becoming a competitive event in the biennial meet.
And to further enhance the discipline’s visibility, DOTA 2 star Pan ‘Ruru’ Jie will arrive in the country to oversee the launch of the biggest esports tie-ups in the Philippines and Southeast Asian region.
Dubbed ‘LGD International Launch Party: A Collab of LGD and Esportsplay Gaming,’ the event will be held on Nov. 26, 1 p.m., at Conrad Hotel. Admission is free.
LGD is considered one of the most formidable international DOTA2 teams in the world and among the oldest esports organizations in China, which Esportsplay Gaming—a new Philippine player in the field of esports—has partnered to create LGD International, a Southeast Asia-based team.
Both entities have bonded to train, coach, manage, and scout top and core players from the Philippines and SEA region. Esports will stake six golds in the SEA Games.
