SEA Games: PH dancesport plucks 5 gold medals in standard events

(UPDATED) Dancesport added to the Philippines’ medal haul early, plucking five gold medals in the standard category of competitions in 30th Southeast Asian Games on Sunday.

The pair of Sean Mischa Aranar and Ana Leonila Nualla danced their way to three gold medals, ruling the Tango, Viennese Waltz and Five Dance events.

The duo Mark Jayson Gayon and May Joy Renigen, meanwhile, got top prize in Standard Waltz and Slow Foxtrot. They settled for silver in quickstep.

Later in the day, the Filipino bets are competing in the breakdance and Latin events at Royce Hotel in Clark, Pampanga.

The dance athletes helped the hiked the country’s gold medal tally to eight as of 12nn.
