MANILA, Philippines — Another Diaz is making a name in weightlifting.

Mary Flor Diaz, cousin of Olympic silver medalist Hidilyn Diaz, bagged the bronze medal in the women’s 45kg event in weightlifting in the 30th Southeast Asian Games Sunday at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Diaz’s win added to the Philippines’ growing medal haul in the regional meet.

So far, the Philippines is leading the gold medal race with 12 as of 4pm, nine more than second-running Vietnam.

Hidilyn Diaz hopes to contribute to the country’s gold medal collection when she takes the floor Monday in the women’s 55kg event.
