SEA Games: PH’s Caluza also bags silver in men’s ice skating

MANILA, Philippines—Christopher Caluza made it a double silver finish for the Philippines in the ice skating competition of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games Sunday at SM Megamall.

On his first SEA Games stint, Caluza claimed the runner-up finish after finishing with a total of 180.22 points (117.85 in the free skate, 62.37 in the short program).

He was the country’s second silver medalist in the event after Alisson Krystle Perticheto’s settled for second place in the women’s division.

This was the Philippines’ second straight silver medal in the men’s division after Michael Martinez’s runner-up campaign in the 2017 SEA Games in Malaysia.

Malaysia’s Julian Yee Zhi Jie claimed his second straight gold medal in the competition with a magnificent performance worth 202.62 (63.35, 139.27).

Micah Kai Lynette of Thailand settled for the bronze medal with 174.06 (60.77, 113.29) points.

Edrian Paul Celestino, the other Filipino contender, placed fourth with a total of 169.59 (61.52, 108.07) points.
