BIÑAN – The Philippines will face defending champion Vietnam in its first semifinal appearance in the women’s football competition of the Southeast Asian Games.
The Malditas drew the Vietnamese in the crossover matchup in the Last Four on Thursday at Biñan Football Stadium after Myanmar topped Group A after edging the Philippines in the tiebreak.
Matching the Malditas’ victory over Malaysia, Myanmar also scored a 5-0 last Monday night which meant both teams had the same goal differential and goals scored.
Myanmar, however, had two less yellow cards than the Philippines, which has three so far.
Thailand, the second-ranked team from Group B, will take on Myanmar in the other semifinal duel on Thursday at Rizal Memorial Stadium.
