The Philippines drew gold and three more medals from the lawn bowls competition Monday in the 30th Southeast Asian Games in Clark, Pampanga.
The pair of Rodel Labayo and Angelo Morales turned in the first gold medal in the competition, ruling the men’s pairs category after a 19-11 win over Thailand’s Woramet Singkeaw and Uthen Ontong in the final.
In the women’s fours, the Philippines’ Marisa Baronda, Sharon Hauters, Hazel Jagonoy, and Rosita Bradborn settled for the silver medal.
Elmer Abatayo, Dagpin Christopher and Hommer Mercado also picked up the silver prize for the country in the men’s triples. They lost to Malaysia, 14-8, in the championship round.
The duo of Nenita Tabiano and Vilma Greenlees added a bronze medal in the women’s pairs.
