MANILA, Philippines–The Philippines Eagles overcame a slow start to frustrate Singapore, 5-3, in the ice hockey competition of the 30th Southeast Asian Games Tuesday at Mall of Asia ice skating rink in Pasay.
Jan Regencia, one of the three teenagers in the squad, hit the pair of goals in the final 18 seconds to seal the deal for the Filipinos.

Sam Bengzon also made his presence felt, scoring the team’s third goal for its first lead in the tightly-contested affair.
The victory gave the Eagles a 2-0 lead in the preliminaries.
