SEA Games: Jermyn Prado bags gold for PH in cycling time trial

TAGAYTAY – Cycling delivered its third gold to the Philippines’ haul after Jermyn Prado ruled the women’s individual time trial in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games here.

Prado, who hails from Pagbilao, Quezon, took the gold after completing the 23.1-kilometer course in 44 minutes, 44.742 seconds.

Her victory comes after the sweep of the mountain bike downhill events by John Derrick Farr and Lea Belgira in Laurel, Batangas last Tuesday.

Singapore’s Yiwei Luo finished just under four seconds behind Prado at 44:48.518 to take the silver, while Phetdarin Somrat of Thailand settled for bronze (44:58.152).

The Philippines’ other bet in the women’s ITT, Marella Salamat, checked in at seventh spot in 45:59.275.
