TAGAYTAY – The Philippines pulled off a golden double in the Game of SKATE as Margielyn Didal and Daniel Lederman ruled their respective categories Thursday in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games at Sigtuna Hall here.

The 20-year-old Didal, the Southeast Asian Games gold medalist for the street event, delivered a masterful performance in the final to beat teammate Christiana Means who was unable to duplicate Didal’s ollie body/varial trick.

Lederman survived a stiff challenge from Basral Hutomo from Indonesia in the finals after besting Nguyen Tiong Son of Vietnam in the semifinals.

The 12-year-old Hutomo, who eliminated Jeffrey Gonzales in the quarterfinals last Wednesday, pushed Lederman within two mistakes from elimination.

But the Filipino bounced back with a 360 front side shove it and a laser flip to seal the gold before a big crowd that included Philippine Olympic Committee president Bambol Tolentino.
