MANILA, Philippines–The Philippines’ sprint bet Kristina Marie Knott set a new Southeast Asian Games record in ruling the women’s 200-meter heat in athletics Saturday at New Clark City Athletics Stadium.

The 24-year-old Knott clocked in at 23.07, wiping the SEA Games record set by Thailand’s Supavadee Khawpeag (23.30) in 2001.

She shoots for the gold medal in the final event later in the day.

Knott, who grew up in Florida and raced for the University of Miami, won gold in the 200m dash test event in October.
