SEA Games: Filipina fencers bag gold medal in team epee

MANILA, Philippines–The Philippines’ women’s épée team tabbed the gold medal at the expense of Singapore in the fencing event of 30th Southeast Asian Games Saturday.
Hanniel Abella delivered the finishing kick in the 45-38 conquest of the visitors before a frenzied crowd at the World Trade Center in Pasay.
The victory comes after the men’s foil team settled for a silver medal after squandering a slim lead against Thailand.
Hanniel Abella, Anna Estimada, Harlene Raguin, and Mickyle Bustos rounded out the cast that gave the women’s delegation its second gold after Jylyn Nicanor in women’s sabre on Friday.
