SEA Games: Philippines grabs pair of bronze medals in karate kata

MANILA, Philippines–John Enrico Vasquez and Sarah Pangilinan salvaged bronze medals in their respective individual kata bid in the Southeast Asian Games’ karate tournament Saturday in World Trade Center in Pasay City.

Vasquez scored 23.66 to nose out Truong Pham of Vietnam and deliver the first medal for the Philippine karate contingent.

Pangilinan (23.74), on the other hand, edged Thazin Aye of Myanmar (22.95) of Myanmar for a share of third place with Thailand.
