SEA Games: PH volleybelles fall to Indonesia

MANILA, Philippines–The Philippine women’s volleyball team failed to sustain a promising start and fell to Indonesia, 22-25, 28-26, 25-22, 25-14, in its last preliminary match in the 30th Southeast Asian Games at PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

Taking a 19-15 lead on the second set, the Filipinos looked poised to log their first win in the tournament.

However, a series of errors and lack of proper execution haunted them from there as the reigning silver medalists slowly staged a comeback.

The Indonesians took advantage of the momentum as they created a huge 20-9 gap and never looked back.

Both teams square off again on Monday for the bronze medal.
