TAGAYTAY – After winning a couple of silver medals in the 30th Southeast Asian Games, Christiana Means finally struck gold on Sunday after ruling the skateboarding women’s park event at Tagaytay Skate Complex here.
The 22-year-old Means saved her best routine for last, scoring 11.2 in the second heat to claim the country’s fourth gold in skateboarding.
Means, who took the silver in game of SKATE and street event both behind Margielyn Didal, opened up with an 8.7 score that was easily surpassed by Nyimas who had a 10.2 in her first run.
But the Portland-based skateboarder returned with a more difficult run in the next, jacking up her score which the Indonesian failed to match. Nyimas only came up with a 10.76 score. Neepa Pramesti of Indonesia took the bronze.
