SEA Games: PH men’s karate bets settle for bronze medals

MANILA, Philippines–Philippine male bets Sharief Afif and Ivan Agustin both settled for a bronze in the continuation of Southeast Asian Games karatedo competition at World Trade Center in Pasay.

Afif blanked Vibol Sreang of Cambodia, 5-0; while Ivan Agustin bested Htet Min of Myanmar, 11-4, to third-place finishes in the men’s +75kg and -75kg kumite, respectively.

The pair of victories hike the Philippine contingents’ medal count to 10 including one gold, one silver and six bronzes as of posting.

Earlier, Jamie Lim secured a spot in the gold medal match in the women’s -61kg kumite. She is set to compete on Monday afternoon.
