PBA Commissioner’s Cup: Alaska rallies to beat Petron, 89-84

MANILA, Philippines – Alaska came back from a double-digit deficit to turn back Petron Blaze, 93-88, Wednesday night in the 37th PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Bonbon Custodio hit back-to-back baskets that gave the Aces an 89-84 lead with 59.2 seconds remaining.

Custodio finished with 17 points, five rebounds and five assists.

Seven-foot import Adam Parada had a team-high 22 points and 15 rebounds while Cyrus Baguio played big as well as he added 19 points and seven rebounds.

Alaska moved above .500 at 4-3 while the Boosters fell to 3-4 despite three of their players notched double-doubles.

Nick Fazekas topscored with 33 points and grabbed 19 rebounds, Arwind Santos collected 14 markers and 10 boards while playmaker Alex Cabagnot scored 10 points and dished out 11 assists.

Cabagnot however, shot poorly, going just three-of-17 from the field.
