MANILA, Philippines–Philippine bet Alexendre Laverez settled for a silver medal in the Southeast Asian Games’ Tekken 7 contest, the final event of the esports competitions Tuesday at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

Sibol’s Lavarez faltered against Nopparut Hempamorn of Thailand, 3-2, to lose his chance at a gold that could’ve bookended Caviar Acampado’s performance earlier in the day.

The Filipino managed to regain his bearings just in time to knot the affair at Game 4, but he barely had any answers in Hempamorn’s near-perfect showing in the period that mattered most.
