Overall SEA games title, boxing discussed at Forum

A post 30th Southeast Asian Games discussion along with the country’s newly crowned world boxing champion on Tuesday make up the final session of the Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum for the year at Amelie Hotel-Manila.

Philippine Sports Institute National Training director Marc Velasco and Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) executive director Guillermo Iroy will talk about the country’s recent campaign in the SEA Games, which Team Philippines dominated to regain the overall championship after 14 years.

The two represent Team PH chef de mission and PSC chair William ‘Butch’ Ramirez in the weekly forum presented by San Miguel Corp., Braska Restaurant, Amelie Hotel and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation.

Sharing center stage with them is new World Boxing Organization bantamweight champion Johnriel Casimero and Manny Pacquiao Promotions president Sean Gibbons.

It will be the first formal public appearance of the 29-year-old Casimero since scoring a third round stoppage of South African Zolani Tete in Birmingham, England, to capture the World Boxing Organization’s 118-pound belt.
