Already in the middle of a spectacular sophomore season in the NBA, Luka Doncic’s year just keeps getting better and better.
Doncic, the Dallas Mavericks star, is reportedly on the verge of signing a “lucrative” endorsement deal with Jordan Brand. The Athletic first reported the news.
According to multiple reports on Sunday, Doncic is close to inking a five-year contract with the sportswear giant, which is also under the Nike umbrella.
The 20-year-old Slovenian, who is considered to be among the MVP candidates this year, is set to join the likes of prized rookie Zion Williamson and Jayson Tatum as the iconic brand’s premier athletes.
As a sneaker free agent, Doncic also played in a pair of Under Armour Curry 7s twice during games. He was also seen wearing the Puma Clyde Hardwood in practice.
The 6-foot-7 guard, the reigning Rookie of the Year, is averaging 29.3 points, 9.6 rebounds and 8.9 assists through 25 games this season, helping the Mavericks become serious title contenders in the stacked Western Conference.
