Pasaol lifts Zambo 5 in Canada
It didn’t take long for Zamboanga star Alvin Pasaol to heat up in freezing conditions in Canada.
Pasaol pumped in 21 points to propel Zamboanga Family’s Brand Sardines to an emphatic 88-72 victory over Imus Bandera last Friday in the Chooks to Go MPBL Lakan Season at Seven Chiefs Sportsplex in Calgary, Alberta.
Arriving less than 24 hours before the game, Zamboanga zoomed to a 46-31 lead, before extending the gap to 23 points in the final period on its way to improving to 17-10 for sixth spot in the South division.
Article continues after this advertisementFormer Ateneo stars Aaron Black and Anton Asistio also shone for Zamboanga. Black had 13 points and seven rebounds while Asistio chipped in 12 points from four triples.
Gerald Anderson tallied 14 points and five assists while Jeric Nacpil had 13 points and eight boards for Imus, which dropped to 6-21.
Meanwhile, Sen. Manny Pacquiao came through with a triple-double as Team Pacquiao/MPBL All-Stars cruised past Casem Calgary, 116-99, in an exhibition game.
