MANILA, Philippines—Imports from PBA Governors’ finalists Barangay Ginebra and Meralco did not make it to the top spot in the Best Import race just as the top five players for BPC didn’t have players from the title contenders.
TNT’s KJ McDaniels is leading the race to take home the Best Import award after tallying an average of 58.6 statistical points while averaging 35.1 points, 13.5 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.4 steals, and 3.4 blocks.
McDaniels’ scoring and blocking were both tops in the league be it as an import or a local.
Ginebra’s Justin Brownlee, winner of two Governors’ Cups and one Commissioner Cup, is at second in the race with an average of 57.2 SPs, putting up numbers of 29 points, 13.6 rebounds, 7.2 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.4 blocks.
Meralco’s Allen Durham, who has been named the Best Import of the Governors’ Cup twice already, has an uphill climb ahead of him if he wants that third one.
Durham chalked up an average of 56.9 SPs while averaging 30.9 points, 15.2 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.8 blocks.
