MANILA, Philippines—Filipino featherweight Roel Rosauro is looking to start anew 10 days into the New Year.

Rosauro is on a dark patch in his career with a two-match losing skid but he’s eager to break that bad spell when he takes on Yohan Mulia Legowo ONE: A New Tomorrow on Jan. 10 at Impact Arena in Bangkok.

“I am thankful for this opportunity, I am excited to get that first win that has been elusive for me,” said Rosauro. “This time they’ll see all the sacrifices that I’ve made in the past two years.”

Rosauro last fought in May 2018, losing to Sunoto Peringkat via unanimous decision.

His last win was in December 2017 when he scored a split decision victory over Alexander Aballe.

“It has been two years since I last tasted a win,” said Rosauro (3-3). “I want to get that and start the year right.”

Rosauro is facing a fighter also eager to get back on track in Legowo (8-8), who has lost his past four fights and has won just once in his last eight bouts.

Nevertheless, Rosauro isn’t taking his opponent lightly.

“Legowo’s ground game is top notch, that’s why I’m working on my grappling now if ever the match gets to that point,” said Rosauro. “He’s also hungry for a win like me. I know he’ll do everything to win so expect a great matchup between us.”
