MANILA, Philippines—Petro Gazz signed up a troika of talent to bolster its campaign in the upcoming season of the Premier Volleyball League.

Outside hitters Jerrili Malabanan and Grethcel Soltones are expected to boost the Angels’ offensive firepower while Ivy Perez joins the team’s setter lineup.

The Angels confirmed their signings on their Facebook account Thursday.

Soltones and Malabanan are making their return to the PVL, where they played under the PayMaya banner with head coach Roger Gorayeb, after previously teaming up with PLDT in the Philippine Superliga.

The duo joins an offensive line that includes Paneng Mercado, Jeanette Panaga, Cherry Nunag, Jonah Sabete, and Jovie Prado.

Aside from additional offense, Soltones and Malabanan are also bringing more championship experience to a club that has already claimed a Reinforced Conference title in 2019.

Malabanan and Soltones were once part of the BaliPure team that went to the finals three times and won the Open Conference title in 2017.

Perez, a former PSL Best Setter, is playing in the PVL for the first time after having steered Foton to the PSL Grand Prix titles in 2015 and 2016 when she played with Jaja Santiago and Lindsay Stalzer.
