MANILA, Philippines — Support and prayers continue to pour in for the Philippines following Taal Volcano’s phreatic eruption on Sunday.

Donovan Mitchell, the rising superstar from the Utah Jazz in the NBA, is among the many who expressed comfort and sent prayers to the tens of thousands affected by the hazardous ashfall from Taal Volcano.

“Damn this is wild! Praying for the Philippines and everyone affected,” Mitchell wrote on Twitter, retweeting a video of Taal Volcano’s eruption.

Donovan Mitchell extends his prayers to those affected by the Taal Volcano explosion.

The 23-year-old Mitchell, who is teammates with Filipino-American Jordan Clarkson, had already been to the Philippines after visiting the country back in June 2018 for an event organized by his sponsor and sportswear giant adidas.

Taal Volcano remains on Alert Level 4 which means that “hazardous explosive eruption is possible within hours to days,” as per the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
