MANILA, Philippines—The world had to wait more than a year to witness the pizzazz and brilliance of Conor McGregor, and the iconic Irishman duly delivered.

McGregor dismantled Donald Cerrone in just 40 seconds in the main event of UFC 246 to score his first knockout win in the welterweight division and move to a 22-4 record.

It was another stunning win for McGregor that had the sporting world left in awe of the former UFC world featherweight and lightweight champion.

“Welcome back Champ!!” tweeted four-time NBA MVP LeBron James.

Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao, the sport’s only eight-division World champion, was also revved up, tweeting, “THE NOTORIOUS!!!” after the fight that even lasted shorter than McGregor’s ring walk.

“Good to see Mystic Mac back in proper form. Enjoy the party at Wynn Las Vegas. Not too much!” posted former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway.

“@TheNotoriousMMA is still the man!” tweeted NBA All-Star center Karl-Anthony Towns.
