MANILA, Philippines—Powerade banked on a third-quarter surge to pummel Air21, 121-92, Sunday night in the 37th PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Hot-handed swingman Gary David had his usual offensive night with a game-high 32 points and collected three rebounds and two blocks for the Tigers, who hiked their mark to 4-3.
Powerade outscored Air21 by 17 points after three to build an 87-63 buffer.
Import Marcus Douthit finished with a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds while also dishing out six assists but struggled as the naturalized Filipino went just seven-of-21 from the field.
The Express dropped to 3-4.
