MANILA, Philippines — Ryan Arana’s PBA career has come full circle.
Araña on Friday officially signed to return with Rain or Shine, the same franchise that selected him in the second round of the 2007 PBA Draft.
“Feels good to be back home! Thank you @bayanngros #family #13yrsStrong,” Araña posted on his Instagram account.
He posted a photo of the during the contract signing with Rain or Shine co-owner Raymond Yu and team governor and team manager Atty. Mamerto Mondragon.
The former La Salle standout was part of the Elasto Painters that won the team’s first-ever PBA championship in the 2012 Governors’ Cup.
He spent his first eight seasons in the league with Rain or Shine before being traded to San Miguel Beer where he won another championship as a member of the Beermen crew that came back from 0-3 down to stun the Alaska Aces in the 2016 Philippine Cup Finals.
Araña, who turns 36 two months from now, is likely to finish his career at Rain or Shine. He last played for NorthPort.
