Dream run to title ends for Jaja Santiago, Ageo Medics

MANILA, Philippines — Jaja Santiago and the Saitama Ageo Medics saw their dream run in the V.League Division 1 end Saturday.
Pitted against a more experienced opponent, the Ageo Medics got outclassed, 16-25, 18-25, 22-25, by JT Marvelous in the knockout semifinals at Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.
Santiago finished with 11 points to follow up her 20-point outing in a comeback win over NEC Red Rockets, 25-20, 16-25, 23-25, 25-23, 15-12, that clinched her club’s first ever Final Four appearance.
Ageo Medics go for a bronze medal against the Denso Airybees on Sunday.
Denso dropped a five-set thriller to the Okayama Seagulls in the other semis matchup.
