MANILA, Philippines — San Miguel Alab Pilipinas continued its inconsistent ways, bowing to Mono Vampire, 102-89, Sunday night in the Asean Basketball League Season 10 at Caloocan Sports Complex.

Just three days after a gritty performance in the 77-76 win over Hong Kong Eastern, the Filipino ballclub fell behind early and struggled to recover against the league-leading Thai squad.

Prince Williams delivered his best offensive game for Alab with 23 points and former Mono import Sam Deguara shot 18 points, but another reinforcement, Nick King groped for form, scoring just six points on 2-of-17 shooting.

King’s struggles characterized Alab’s lackluster performance at home as it suffered a second loss in three meetings to Mono, which now solidified its hold of top spot with a 9-3 slate. Alab fell to 6-4 after dropping a third game in its last four outings.

Mono shot 54 percent from the field with imports Michael Morrison and Mike Singletary hitting 23 points each. Alab also found it difficult to contain Tyler Lamb and Preston Knowles, who chipped in 17 points each for the Thais.
