Alex Eala advances to Australian Open third round
Filipino Alex Eala beat Julia Belgraver of France, 6-0, 3-6, 6-1, Tuesday to advance to the third round of the junior girls’ singles in the 2020 Australian Open in Melbourne.
The 14-year-old Eala, a rising star from Rafael Nadal Academy, faces 17-year-old Yi Cody Wong of Hong Kong Wednesday for a spot in the quarterfinal round.
