Hidilyn Diaz wins 3 gold medals in Weightlifting World Cup

Hidilyn Diaz bagged three gold medals to dominate the 55-kilogram women’s division in the 2020 Weightlifting World Cup on Tuesday in Rome, Italy.

Diaz, who is looking to book her ticket to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, lifted a total of 212 kilograms after finishing first in both the snatch (93 kgs) and clean and jerk (119 kgs) categories.

The Filipino weightlifting star also won gold in the 2018 Asian Games and the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.

Ukraine’s Kamila Konotop came in second with a total lift of 196 kgs (90 in snatch and 106 in clean and jerk)  while Tunisia’s Nouha Landoulsi settled for bronze with 194 kgs (86 in snatch and 108 in clean and jerk).
